Description: Help restore the coastal ecosystem by participating in this cleanup at the Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point!
The Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point consists of 100 acres (43 hectares) with 2 kilometres of coastline within the Fundy Coast Eco-district in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick. This nature preserve is a stopover site for migratory birds, including the harlequin duck, a species at risk.
This is a kid-friendly site and does not require transport by boat. There will be activities and learning opportunities for kids centered around learning about our coastal ecosystems and how to protect them — perfect for families looking to get out and make a difference together!
What to Expect:
At this cleanup, teams will work together to identify and remove debris along the preserve's shorelines. Participants should be prepared to collect garbage and do some bushwhacking.
We will also be hosting a BBQ (sponsored by Connors Bros Seafood!) at 4 P.M. at Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point to thank everyone for their hard work! Those who attended a cleanup event or led their own cleanup are encouraged to join — don’t forget to stop by!
More details will be circulated to participants upon registration and in advance of the cleanup event.
