Carli started working with the Nature Trust in summer 2015 as a Stewardship Assistant, then transitioned to the conservation department where she currently works. She was born in South Africa and lived there until 2013, which instilled within her a great appreciation for wildlife conservation and the protection of the natural world. She completed a BSc in Conservation Ecology at Stellenbosch University in December 2010, after which she worked in the conservation volunteer industry in various locations in southern Africa for over three years. During this time, she worked with a wide variety of iconic wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, cheetah, and black and white rhinoceros.

After moving to Canada, becoming involved with the Nature Trust was a natural step in her career in the conservation field. As the Conserved Lands Coordinator, Carli brings a different perspective from the other side of the world to the Nature Trust. Her time here has furthered her passion for conservation and love for adventure. In her spare time, Carli enjoys being outside and especially loves bird watching.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Neləkwənəkek Nature Preserve. The variety of unique floodplain vegetation and diversity of bird species makes this preserve unique, including the multiple Species at Risk it supports.
