Parking/Meeting Location: Located East of Elgin. If you are coming from the NB-905, turn on NB-895 and drive for 4.4 km. You will find the nature preserve parking sign to turn into the parking on the right.

Description: This volunteer training day is for anyone interested in independent field-based volunteering with the Nature Trust of New Brunswick. Our team will teach you how to use the Landscape Conservation app, which is an essential tool in stewarding our nature preserves, as well as trail maintenance procedures and water quality monitoring. After attending a volunteer training day, you will be equipped to volunteer independently and perform trail maintenance and general monitoring on our nature preserves!
Mapleton Acadian Forest Trail Nature Preserve has hemlock groves, streams, an observation platform and more!

Please note: The terrain at our nature preserves is often uneven and we may be working in areas that are off-trail and un-maintained. The terrain can be steep, and the trails are in the forest, meaning that rocks and tree roots are often underfoot.
