Description: The Nature Trust of New Brunswick's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is happening on Saturday, October 25 at 1:30 p.m. (AST) at the AYR Motor Centre in Woodstock, New Brunswick.

Join us to celebrate a banner year for land conservation in New Brunswick, which saw the addition of beautiful new preserves in Appalachian Hardwood Forest, along the Wolastoq river valley, and other key habitats. With these additions, our network of protected lands has grown to 14,000 acres and counting!

The business portion of the meeting will run from 1:30-2:30 p.m. While all are welcome, please note that to vote and help shape our future, you must have made a donation between now and last year’s AGM in October. (To become a voting member, donate here).

After the business meeting, join us at 3 p.m. for a special social gathering and guided hike at the grand opening and official name unveiling of one of our new nature preserves in Long Settlement, Carleton County. This 78-hectare (193-acre) preserve safeguards climate-resilient Appalachian hardwood forest, red maple swamp, and cedar swamp habitats, providing refuge for rare species such as the white-rimmed shingle lichen (an imperiled species at risk in NB), black ash, American lopseed, and Goldie’s woodfern. With towering canopy trees, serene streams, and vibrant fall colours, this preserve is also vital habitat for moose, deer, and forest birds. Come explore this beautiful landscape firsthand and help us celebrate one of the newest additions to New Brunswick’s growing network of protected natural areas! Important: to register for the hike portion of the AGM, please click here.

To ensure we can roll out the ‘green’ carpet and make all the necessary arrangements, kindly RSVP here by Monday, October 20 or by phone at 506-457-2398.
