Description: Help restore the coastal ecosystem by participating in this cleanup at L’Étang Islands Nature Preserve!
The L’ Étang Island Nature Preserve (A Stewart Family Preserve) is comprised of the Park Islands, an archipelago of six small islands just south of St. George, New Brunswick in Charlotte County. This preserve totals 18 hectares (43.5 acres) and includes Cochrane’s Island, 8 hectares (19 acres), and one waterfront lot of 9 hectares (22 acres) on the mainland. The preserve is located in the L’ Étang Estuary.
What to Expect:
At this cleanup, teams will work together to identify and remove debris along the shorelines of the preserve. Participants should be prepared for travel by boat, collecting garbage, and some bushwhacking.
We will also be hosting a BBQ (sponsored by Connors Bros Seafood!) at 4 P.M. at Connors Bros. Nature Preserve at Pea Point to thank everyone for their hard work! Those who attended a cleanup event or led their own cleanup are encouraged to join — don’t forget to stop by!
More details will be circulated to participants upon registration and in advance of the cleanup event.
