JON MACNEILL (he/him/il)
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Jon joined the Nature Trust team in spring 2023 and is keen to help spread the word about the good work of protecting nature and helping New Brunswickers get their feet wet at one of the trust’s beautiful preserves. With a decade experience leading communications teams in the environmental non-profit sector, and eight years spent in newsrooms in New Brunswick’s print media, Jon specializes in telling stories about people and the special places they are trying to protect in order to inspire New Brunswickers to get involved in building the province they want to live in.

Having worked on campaigns to protect freshwater and wetlands, marine waters and coastlines, and the province’s stunning, mixedwood Acadian Forest, Jon is excited to work with the Nature Trust’s talented team and its passionate supporters to protect more nature in New Brunswick.

Jon loves spending time outside by running water, cycling through wooded trails, and hiking up tall mountains. He lives in Fredericton with his daughter, Lainey.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Jon loves the Boars Head Nature Preserve for its rugged bay banks and beautiful cedar wetlands.
