SOCIAL ACCOUNTS: Twitter | LinkedIn

Originally from Australia, Peta has a global perspective and broad appreciation of the planet’s natural landscapes, flora and fauna. She spent her childhood in India and Niger, West Africa, with a year in England; and her young adulthood in Australia with a year in Japan.

She has called Fredericton, New Brunswick home since 2004. Fluently bilingual, with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) and a Bachelor of Asian Studies (Japanese) from the Australian National University, Peta has a diverse range of experience and skills having worked for both the Australia and Canadian federal governments in first international economic development and now regional economic development. She enjoys her work at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and is also active in the community with the Nature Trust, Wostawea Cross Country Ski Club and the Brunswick Street Baptist Church choir.

Peta is a mum to three busy children - Charlotte, Jack and Harry who share her love of being active in the great outdoors. She has been on the board of the Nature Trust since 2013 and feels that it is a great privilege to be able to contribute to this wonderful organization which is doing very important work for the planet and future generations.

Favourite Nature Preserve: Peta's favourite nature preserve is Hyla Park in Fredericton. This preserve is nearby to her home on the Saint John River in Barkers Point and shares many of the same species and fauna, including the spotted leopard frog. Peta loves that this preserve is in an urban setting, providing all with an easy escape into a beautiful natural setting where it's normal to happen upon everything from beavers, frogs, turtles and snakes to butterflies, dragonflies and blue herons. A truly magical place in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
