Overview
This 15.7-hectare (38.8-acre) preserve is a partially forested wetland descending to freshwater wetland protecting shoreline along Ossekeag Creek.

The Hampton Marsh Nature Preserve was donated by Howard & Donna Spalding in 2018 to protect this rich ecosystem in perpetuity.
Ecology
The Hampton Marsh Nature Preserve is within traditional Wabanaki territory. The wetland system of the Hampton Marsh has been identified as an Ecologically Significant Area for its irreplaceable functions.
The wetland habitat varies between freshwater marsh and abiotic bed, with stream flow in various areas, and provides important habitat for many species of bird and aquatic life.
Access and Activities
There is no direct road access to this preserve. Foot access is possible from Centennial Road to enter eastern side of preserve but not without crossing active railroad tracks; however, we ask that you contact the Nature Trust office at (506) 457-2398 or ntnbpreserves@ntnb.org for more information about visitation.
