About the Nature Trust:

The Nature Trust is a charitable land conservation organization which focuses on conserving and stewarding private land and engaging New Brunswickers about the importance of protecting our province’s unique natural heritage and biodiversity. Since 1987, we have conserved more than 12,000 acres of ecologically-significant land in more than 80 beautiful and diverse nature preserves throughout the province.

As we continue to expand our network and work towards our vision of a New Brunswick where natural heritage is valued and protected for future generations, it is more important than ever to have a strong leadership team that can lead us towards a sustainable future. It is an exciting time for land conservation in New Brunswick, and the Nature Trust has adopted a new five-year strategic plan for 2023-2027 to guide our commitment.

What we are looking for:

The Nature Trust Board of Directors follows an intentional recruitment commitment to ensure our Board composition represents the province’s diversity of expertise and experiences.   • Leaders developing their careers who are interested in gaining board experience at a non-profit organization focused on land conservation;

  • Leaders who represent and have relationships within various professional sectors, especially corporate leadership or government relations;

  • Leaders with a background in finance, bookkeeping, fundraising or fund management experience;

  • Leaders with an ability to provide guidance and support around legal knowledge, marketing and design, or information technology.
