ALEX CRAWFORD (he/him/il)
CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN

Alex was raised in Taymouth, N.B. and spent most of his time outdoors, kayaking along the Nashwaak River and picking up litter from its banks so he could enjoy a cleaner river for swimming. Alex spends as much of his free time as possible with his daughter to pass along his passion for the outdoors and the importance of its conservation. He also loves learning how to garden and care for his animals, which include chickens and three dogs— Ollie, Arlo, and Storm.

Alex pursued a degree in marine biology for three years at Dalhousie University before deciding it wasn’t the field for him, opting instead for a trade. He earned his Red Seal certification as a plumber in 2022, but soon felt the pull of the outdoors bring him back into the world of conservation. He is now pursuing a Bachelor of Science in environment and natural resources, majoring in wildlife conservation, at the University of New Brunswick. "Most days, I can't believe that I get to spend my time working in conservation,” he says. “None of it feels like work, and I love what I get to do here."
