ALICIA HIGNEY (she/her)
STEWARDSHIP TECHNICIAN
Alicia is originally from the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia and has lived in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick, giving her the opportunity to experience and connect with a wide range of ecosystems. These diverse environments have deeply influenced her passion for nature and shaped her commitment to conservation.
She is currently pursuing a degree in Wildlife Conservation at the University of New Brunswick, where she combines academic study with hands-on experience to better understand and protect Canadian biodiversity. As an executive member of the Wetland Conservation Society, Alicia plays an active role in organizing initiatives, raising awareness, and promoting wetland stewardship. Her academic work, research projects, and volunteer efforts are all centered on conservation, habitat protection, and environmental responsibility.
In her spare time, Alicia enjoys hiking, swimming, and reading. She has a deep curiosity for native flora and fauna and loves exploring new regions. Alicia hopes to continue living and working across Canada, contributing meaningfully to conservation efforts nationwide.
