Description: Help restore the coastal ecosystem by participating in this cleanup at the Frye Island Nature Preserve! The Frye Island Nature Preserve is comprised of one large island and several smaller islands, all connecting at low tide, located at the mouth of L’Etang Harbour and L’Etang River in the Town of St. George, New Brunswick. Frye Island is of great ecological and heritage value as an Environmentally Significant Area for migratory raptors and other birds. Species of birds that visit this Nature Preserve include the hermit thrush, the black capped chickadee, wood ducks, mallard ducks, and bald eagle among many others.

At this cleanup, teams will work together to identify and remove debris along the preserve's shorelines. Participants should be prepared for travel by boat, garbage collection, and some bushwhacking.

🌊🏃‍♂️ Team, Trash, and Terry Fox!

When the pandemic paused Terry Fox Runs in 2020, Carl Duivenvoorden turned his admiration for Terry into action—launching an annual beach cleanup in his honour. Since then, the effort has grown every year, tackling more trash, raising more funds, and building a stronger team.

On September 13, Carl and friends will return to Frye Island for the 6th annual Terry Fox Beach Cleanup—to Finish It!

You can support cancer research in Terry’s name and help create healthier oceans by making a donation today. Every contribution fuels the fight against cancer and keeps our shorelines cleaner for all.
