Upper Wolastoq/Saint John River Paddle

LOCATION: Eagle’s Eye and Green Island Nature Preserve, Florenceville-Bristol
COST: Free
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Moderate, kid-friendly (ages 10+)

Join local stewards for a paddle to two of our island nature preserves located in the Florenceville-Bristol area on the Upper Wolastoq (Saint John) River to check on the health of the islands. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and PFD. Canoes and kayaks can be rented from Riverview Outfitters for the excursion.

*There is poison ivy on some of the islands. Please wear closed toed shoes, socks and long sleeves when venturing into the wooded areas.

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING:

  • Transportation (canoe or kayak), PFD, and dry bag;
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather and conditions;
  • Water and snacks;
  • Sunscreen and DEET free insect repellent.

HOW TO GET HERE: Participants will be meeting at the gazebo at Riverside Park, located at 9173 Main Street, Florenceville-Bristol, NB E7L 2Y3, in order to launch off.
