DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Moderate, kid-friendly (ages 10+)

Join our staff on a trip to the Butternut Island Nature Preserve and help us remove the invasive Japanese knotweed to protect the native wildlife that inhabits this preserve. The stewardship pillar of our organization focuses on the maintenance and care of our preserves and we need your help to maintain the ecological integrity of this protected area.

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING:

  • Appropriate work clothing and work gloves;
  • Rubber boots or waterproof hiking boots;
  • Water and snacks;
  • Sunscreen and DEET free insect repellent;
  • Shovel (optional).

HOW TO GET HERE: More details to come. The meeting location of the Invasive Species Removal at the Butternut Island Nature Preserve will be given to participants upon registration.
