Frog Walk Guide Training

LOCATION: Hyla Park Nature Preserve, Fredericton
COST: Free
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: All levels, kid-friendly

We are looking for volunteers to lead Frog Walks at Hyla Park. Frog Walk Guides lead visitors of all ages through the protected wetland and teach them about the wildlife that call the preserve home.

No previous nature interpretation skills are required.

*Due to the sensitivity of the several amphibian species found at Hyla Park, we ask that participants who wish to handle the amphibians to please avoid wearing sunscreen and insect repellant.


  • Rubber boots or hip waders;
  • Water;
  • Bug net;
  • Notebook and pencil or pen (optional).

HOW TO GET HERE: Hyla Park is accessible by car and by the Fredericton trail system. If driving, the preserve’s gravel parking lot is located behind the Greenwood Drive United Baptist Church at 150 Greenwood Drive Fredericton, NB E3A 3V5.
