Laura is from Saint John NB , where she graduated from Saint John High School in 2016 and is going into her 4th year of an Environmental Science undergraduate degree at Acadia University in the fall. Since being introduced to the Nature Trust by her Father when she was about 13, Laura has been involved with multiple events, such as beach clean ups, helping at the charity auction and boundary walks.
Being outdoors in New Brunswick is valuable to Laura in many ways and has allowed her to pursue outdoor sports such as rock climbing, skiing, hiking, river skating and more. Working for the Nature Trust is exciting for Laura because they help to preserve and protect the wild and beautiful place that she loves.
Favourite Nature Preserve: The Blueberry Hill Nature Preserve. This spectacular preserve is special to Laura because it is only 5 minutes from her home, and it is the first Nature Trust property Laura remembers going to and volunteering at.
Laura loves to see how much the property has improved since her father, Mike Bonga first brought her there when there was no bridge, to how it looks now after the combined efforts of the community, friends of blueberry hill, scout groups, the Nature Trust and more.
