Jane Fullerton’s commitment to her community never ceases to amaze. Having recently stepped down after 16 years in her role as CEO at the New Brunswick Museum, Jane continues to share her passion for art accessibility, New Brunswick, and the celebration of our natural heritage. In 2011, Jane joined the board of directors of the Nature Trust of New Brunswick as a director, and has recently completed two terms, and decided to step up as Secretary.
Under her guidance, the Nature Trust has undertaken various collaborative projects that marry the art and nature communities. Nature of ART of Nature was launched in 2012, an art exhibition and catalogue featuring nature-inspired multi-media art pieces by students of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. The exhibition and productions were undertaken by the New Brunswick Museum, and the Nature Trust in collaboration with the UNB Arts Centre and of course the College of Craft and Design.
Conservation on Canvas, a touring exhibition of Michael McEwing’s oil paintings of nature preserves across the province, is another collaborative project between the New Brunswick Museum and the Nature Trust, of which Jane continues played a key leadership role. With her expertise and leadership, the Nature Trust has navigated through some difficult decision-making in terms of advocacy, and we are grateful for her continued dedication.
