Join the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, Nature NB, and ornithologist Roger LeBlanc to learn about bird identification and stewardship, and to help us clean-up this bird habitat at the Shepody Bay Important Bird Area (including Cape Enrage Nature Preserve, Mary’s Point, and/or Waterside Beach).   

LOCATION: Cape Enrage Nature Preserve, and Shepody National Wildlife Area.
COST: Free
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: All levels, kid-friendly


Bird IDENTIFICATION WORKSHOP:

MEETING LOCATION FOR BIRD ID TRAINING:  Mary’s Point Beach parking area, at the Shepody National Wildlife Area Parking.

NOTE: Previous birding experience is beneficial for the workshop.

TIME: 10:00 AM


SHORELINE Cleanup:

MEETING LOCATION FOR CAPE ENRAGE NATURE PRESERVE BEACH CLEANUP: 650 Cape Enrage Rd, Waterside, NB E4H 4Z4.

TIME: 12:30 PM


PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING (applicable for both):

  • Binoculars or spotting scope (optional);

  • Bird Identification Guides (optional);

  • Field book/pencil;

  • Sturdy closed toed shoes;

  • Appropriate clothing for weather;

  • Lunch/Snacks;

  • Water;

  • Sunscreen;

  • DEET Free Insect Repellant;

  • Work gloves (optional);

  • Pocket knife (optional);

  • Camera (optional).
