City likely to help preserve scenic Blueberry Hill land

SAINT JOHN - Common council wants Saint Johners to find their thrill on Blueberry Hill.
The city's politicians voted unanimously this week to ask city
manager Patrick Woods to look into the idea of handing over $5,000 and
in-kind services to a group trying to preserve the scenic property in
the Martinon area of the city.
The report from Woods will likely
be just a formality, given the support the Nature Trust of New
Brunswick received following a presentation to council.
Nature Preserve Protects Precious Space

One of my proudest moments as a member of the legislature came this
past December when a portion of provincial land was turned over to the
Nature Trust of New Brunswick. This new nature preserve is located in
the Millidgeville area at Boar's Head.

Posted September 10th, 2009 by RenataThe Nature Trust’s largest project ever, the Campaign for Coastal Lands, is in its final push for funds. The deadline to raise $950,000 is December 31, 2009. So far the total of gifts and pledges made is $740,000, almost 78% of our goal!
